Practical training in the field of National Security, a 6 weeks (180 hours) course take place after finishing the 4th semester of the undergraduate studies. The practical training is to be done by the full time and extramural students in administrative units dealing with national security. The choice of the administrative unit in which to do the practical training is to be done by the student, upon the previous consent of the internship supervisor.
The main purpose of the student training apprenticeship in the field of National Security is:
- formation of the skill to use in a practical way the theoretical knowledge acquired in the course of the studies in public administrative activity and non-public entities performing national security- related tasks,
- formation of the skills necessary in the future job, amongst others; analytical, organizational and teamwork,
- formation of the feeling of responsibility and ethics in performance at work,
- to create conditions to activate students professionally in the job market.
Graded credit for the student training apprenticeship is done by the internship supervisor in the winter (first) semester of the third year in the undergraduate studies and is based on the following documents: apprenticeship agreement, practice journal, practice report. There is also the possibility to apply for the exemption from the duty to perform the practical training if a student submits a document confirming the fact that he has done or is doing a duty, paid job, apprenticeship or a voluntary work, if its chcracter and type of the institution fulfils the requirements specified in the student training apprenticeship curriculum. Active work in the Students‘ Scientific Association in National Security can also serve as the grounds to apply for the exemption from doing the practical training. The students applying for the exemption from the student training apprenticeship ought to acquire individual assent from the internship supervisor based on the documents submitted. The decision of the exemption from the student training apprenticeship is done by the Dean of Students upon the approval of the student application.
